Brief snippets and photos of our year.
Perhaps the best way to see what members of the Johnstown Community are achieving is through photographs. Here's are news snippets of what we've been doing.

This year saw the return of the winter tree lights with the addition of the new feature of winter planters adorning St Martha's Bridge. Johnstown continued to be free from pesticide and herbicide use along our Green Km stretch thanks to the support from both Meath CC and the IDA. Sunflowers grown by the 4 local schools again lifted our spirits in Autumn and we gained extra help from the Green Team at Colaiste Na Mi Secondary School weeding the paths. Volunteers delivered over 800 hampers, collected over 300 litter bags, and spent hundreds of hours offering community support.
This was our most successful scoring year in the Tidy Towns Competition and we gained 2 awards for Large Town and Actions for Pollinators for the second year running in the Pride of Place Awards. The Ukraine Appeal dominated the start of the year but we also planted trees, sowed sunflower seeds, gre wild areas, cleaned streets, delivered hampers, and more. All to make a positive contribution to our neighbourhood.
Winning 4 awards for our work involving actions for pollinators and improving our area we continued to work around Covid restrictions to make a positive contribution..
Despite the Tidy Towns Competition being canceled, due to the pandemic, we refocussed our group to provide community support, planting, and feature projects.
We've yet to catalogue our achievements for the years 2016 to 2019.
