Navan Outreach
Initiated 2020
During the Covid-19 pandemic our community support service expanded to offer help to the 'unseen' homeless in Navan. We had previously seen the homeless in Dublin when we visited with the Inner City Helping Homeless charity but rarely are we aware of those living on our local streets. In July 2020, 12 individuals were being supported on the streets with hot meals either made by residents or donated by Smith's SuperValu, and clothing, sleeping bags, and even tents, donated by members of the public.
The support is ongoing and involves several members offering their help to deliver hot food and supplies.
2023 Christmas Party
In collaboration with other supporting groups we're going to make Christmas a little bit special for homeless families living in Co Meath. Thanks to the efforts of the transition year students and their teachers at St Michael's Loreto in Navan homeless families and their children will enjoy a Christmas party on 14th December.
Thanks also to our sponsors Smiths SuperValu Smiths SuperValu and Malones Navan Malones Navan for making this possible.
If you would like to help make Christmas a little more special for homeless children you can donate via www.CoreIreland.ie where you will find a donate button on their website.
