Do you have an apple tree in your garden? We’re on a mission to help our local trees thrive!
Most apple trees are "social"—they need a pollination partner (another tree blooming at the same time nearby) to actually produce fruit. We are creating a Visual Pollination Map of Johnstown to see which neighborhoods are "fruit-friendly" and where we might need to plant more pollinator corridors!
How you can help: Please use the form below to add your tree to the map. It takes less than 60 seconds!
By mapping our private trees, we can identify "pollination gaps" and bridge our local habitats. This supports our goal of creating a Dispersed Urban Orchard right here in Navan, making our community more biodiverse and our harvests even better!
Even a Crab Apple tree in your garden or a nearby hedgerow is a "Universal Donor" and helps everyone out. Please let us know if you have one!
What we need to know
Variety Name: (e.g., Bramley, Discovery, Katy, Egremont Russet)
Pollination Group: (If you know it! Usually a letter like A, B, or C. If not, just tell us when it blossoms!)
Your Eircode: (We only need this to place a "Tree Icon" on the map—no names or exact house numbers will be published!)
Why It Will Work
